Hi do u think my shitzu is pregnant I've had lady for around 8 months now I was sopose to get her spayed but never got around to it on the 25th of April she was with my male chihuahua I separate them and I didn't see them mate but now she's showing signs of pregnancy she's getting chubby around the waist and her nipples are hanging but they feel empty like they don't have any milk and also she's losing her appetite she's had 4 litters before which is why I wanted her spayed do u think she pregna

Hello, I am afraid there is no way to tell if your pet is truly pregnant, going through a false pregnancy, or is just getting chubby in this venue. A dog is pregnant an average of 63 days, so if she was with the male for only 1 day on April 25th, she is technically overdue. Your veterinarian can probably palpate her abdomen or take an x-ray to confirm if she is pregnant. If she is not, this would be a good time to schedule that spay surgery.
