My dog is a picky eater. Can he eat wet food or meat chunks?

Hi i have a white american bulldog he's male he's 10 so we've been told not had him long , basically people tell me he should eat dry food but he won't eat much so i tried him on chicken and gravy chunks he loves him but apparently he shouldn't be having chunks what should he be eating. As long as he is eating a well balanced dog food and maintaining his weight, the formulation does not matter. So if he prefers the chicken and gravy that should be fine.
