Why does my dog suddenly get crazy energy and run around the house?

Sometimes my dog have an outburst of energy he will just be walking around the house than not even 10 seconds go by and suddenly he starts running around the house like crazy and barking crazy we calm him down then he will relax again why is he having these outburst of energy it's insane. Thanks for using PetCoach! I lovingly refer to these episodes as “the zoomies”. Almost all dogs have them at some time or another. They happen more often in puppies and young adults but can happen at any age. Even though Chewy may seem like he is suddenly possessed, it’s a good outlet of energy and good exercise. So if it’s not hurting or bothering anyone, let him at it. In fact, excitedly running outside with him to let him tear it up outside is great too.
