Is it safe to give my dog Benadryl if he's on Rimadyl for anxiety?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 100 lbs

Hello. My dog is taking Rimadyl for knee surgery and is freaking out over fireworks. He is 100 pounds and I just have him 100mg Benadryl. He is out and calm now but I just realized it might be bad to mix the meds. Help please. Chris

Hi there, Rest easy, it is absolutely safe to mix Benadryl and Rimadyl. In the future, a drug called Trazodone may help him more with the noise phobia. I hope this is helpful! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
