My mouse still has URI symptoms. Should I keep giving her meds?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Unknown - Small Animal | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 3 days old | 0.06 lbs

My mouse has a URI, so last week she was prescribed .02 ml of doxycycline and .02 ml of baytril. She seemed to get better after the first two days (no noisy breathing, no sneezing), but she missed one dose because I couldn't get her to take the meds. After that, noisy breathing returned. She has taken all the other doses after that and has gotten slightly better. The treatment is supposed to end today, but symptoms aren't gone completely. Can I give her the meds for a few more days?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Sheen. It is reasonable to continue the medications as they seems to help her. However, since her symptoms have not fully resolved, I recommend that she sees her veterinarian for a recheck. Encourage her to continue to eat and drink as best you can. I hope this information helps!
