Is reddish-brown eye discharge and inactivity normal for a 6-year-old cat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 6 years and 6 months old | 12 lbs

My six you old cat has been having redish brown discharge from her eyes recently. She doesn't seem sick but I'm still worried. She's also not that active and I was wondering if that's normal.

No, this is not normal at all, and it could be that Bibi Noor has an eye infection or could have injured her eye. Any problem with the eye should be seen by a vet asap as leaving it untreated can and does lead to vision loss. I would take her into a vet to have her eye examined and diagnosed so it can be treated. Best of luck.
