My dog is lethargic, vomiting blood, and won't eat. What can I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 2 years and 3 months old | 9 lbs

Hi! My dog has been lethargic. At first she had liquid yellow vomit once but she was ok. Then she didn’t want to eat. Yesterday I gave her some greek yogurt. Today her stomach was making gurgling sounds and she started vomiting white foam and evacuate red which I think was blood. I’m really concerned but all of the Vets I have called are closed today. I don’t know what to do.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Loss of appetite and vomiting can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Layka evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. You can offer a bland diet which may help. This diet could be composed of rice, boiled chicken, ham, turkey, lean hamburgers or low fat cottage cheese. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a great day! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
