Hi there, my cat has lost her voice for the past day and a half. She's totally fine otherwise - eating, drinking, playful, social. Environmentally, we've taken in a foster kitten for the last week and the city's had a bit of a heat wave. Could these be factors?

That can be a sign of an upper respiratory infection or cold. She may be getting a mild cold from your foster kitten. If the older cat has been vaccinated she shouldn’t get very sick and the symptoms should resolve quickly.
