Why is my dog's pee bloody? What are common causes of blood in urine?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Doberman Pinscher | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 22 days old | 41.8 lbs

Just few minutes ago I was applying a treatment on my dogs’ neck for ticks/fleas, my female dog suffered an infection and both my dogs had skin allergies(which I treated by injections), however before I leave I found this( see the photos) is that blood? And what could cause it in their urine? Yesterday I also gave me a deworm( my vet told me so before I can vaccinate them). Thank you in advance!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Unfortunately due to the color of your tile I can't tell 100% if that is blood. You will need to collect a urine sample and have your Vet check it. Causes of blood in the urine are a urinary tract infection, crystals in the urine or bladder stones. It isn't from the topical flea treatment or the dewormer. I wish you the best!
