Should I worry about a growing bump with a scab on my dog's mouth?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Border Collie | Male | neutered | 45 lbs

Hello. The other day I noticed a small bump about an inch above my dogs mouth. It’s grown since then, although it’s still very small. It doesn’t seem to be bothering him, but I’m worried it’s something bad. He’s utd on all his shots and is in good health otherwise. The bumb is small, pink, and raised, with a black scab at the top.

It looks like it may be a mole. If it continues to grow, get irritated or bother Leo I recommend taking him to a vet. If you would like to know definitively what it is they can always take a sample and have the pathologist evaluate it. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
