What is this raw, open sore on my dog's upper lip? Is it serious?

Recently a sore formed on our dog's upper lip. The sore is circular, open, and raw. While it does not seem to bother the dog, we are still worried if it is a symptom of a larger problem. Is there a way to possibly attach a photo for review? Pet's info: Dog | Samoyed | Male | neutered | 5 years and 4 months old | 70 lbs
