How can I get prescription food for my diabetic cat moving to the US?

Hello, i'm bringing my cat to the states. She has diabeties and weight problems. I want to order special royal canon or hills food for her, but it won't let me, because i don't have a prescription from a local doctor. Will a foreign prescription work? Or how can i purchase the food? It's really important for her health. Pet's info: Cat | Devon Rex | Female | spayed | 9 lbs
