Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Male
I’m housesitting so this cat isn’t mine. He’s mean, likes to bite and still has his claws. I’m supposed to lock him in the laundry room at night but he’s refusing. I can’t even get close enough to try to grab him. On top of that, he got tangled up in the dogs leash and now has it around his neck. I’d leave him out if it wasn’t for this but I’m scared he’ll get hurt.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I'm sorry to hear that Hiro is being difficult and potentially causing himself harm! My recommendation is to use a towel or thick blanket to try to cover and restrain him safely so that you are able to get the leash off of him. If you are able and feel comfortable doing this, you may have to "scuff him" meaning you tightly grasp the skin on the back of his neck to prevent him from being able to bite you. As always, be careful! Cats are VERY quick and frighten easily. You may need another person to assist you, so do not attempt anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. I hope this is helpful, and good luck!
