My dog's seizures stopped after benign tumor removal. Is it related?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 8 years and 3 months old | 52 lbs

My dog has idiopathic epilepsy , he just had a big lump removed and it turned out to be a benign tumor . Could this have caused his seizures . He has not had a seizure since it was removed two months ago .

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Typically a benign mass should not be the cause of seizures unless it is directly pressing on brain or spinal cord. I’m glad Ace hasn’t had an siezures but I suspect it isn’t due to removal of the mass.
