My dog vomited 6 hours after Trifexis. Does she need another dose?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 6 years and 6 months old | 60 lbs

My dog has been on Trifexis for about 5, and everything has been going great. However yesterday at around 12pm I gave my dog Trifexis, but I made the mistake of not giving her a big enough meal, so 6 hours later she had an upset stomach and vomited. My question is, do I have to reapply / give her another Trifexis pill for this month, (July), or within those 6 hours should it already be in her system? Also rest assured she’s perfectly fine, running around, eating, playing, and do great since

Six hours is sufficient time for Stella to digest the Trifexis. If you didn't see the pill in the vomitus, then she digested it. Typically, another dose is recommended only if vomiting occurs within 1 hour of administration.

If you can sort through the vomit and see the pill, you can give it again (gross, I know, but effective). The manufacturer says you only need to re-dose if the vomiting happens within an hour, but I would call your vet to confirm that.
