My cat pukes when my parents fight. Is it a stress response?

hello! i have a question. why does my cat always puke after/when my dad fights with my mom? the cat is very close with my mom and my dad will verbally abuse my mom and the cat will almost always puke during or after the fight. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 13 years and 2 months old | 10 lbs
