My cat is meowing a lot. Is it heat exhaustion or something else?

How can I tell if my cat is suffering from heat exhaustion or something else? He’s been meowing a lot- unusual for him-

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Meowing can be a sign or pain or discomfort in cats if it is not their normal behavior. If you suspect Figaro was overheated, you can try to take his temperature with a rectal thermometer, 102 is normal for most cats. If over 103 I recommend a veterinary visit tonight. Be sure he has plenty of fresh, clean water and is eating and drinking. If he si straining to use the litter box or going in and out a lot this could be sign or a urinary blockage and requires immediate medical attention. I hope Figaro is back to normal soon
