How to stop my dog from scratching a cut on his snout before vet?

Our dog Teddy still has a small cut on his snout. Just when we think it’s healing good he scratches it and now its slightly bigger but still about a 1/4”. Is there anything we can do before we go to the vet? Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 1 year and 6 months old | 78 lbs

Place an e-collar (cone) on him to prevent pawing or rubbing. It should extend at least two inches beyond the tip of the nose. This may be enough to allow healing. If not, have him examined by your veterinarian.
