i am going to put patches to sleep today/tomorrow ,depends on this answer. I NEED an answer. She is having seizures, her diabetes is NOT the cause. She JUST had one, her glucose level was 144, this is the 6th one i have SEEN. she could be having them all day, when i am not here. she is 17yo,her diabetes is under control, and her diet is to, but I cant bare the though of her having epilepsy, Her brain being eaten away. Being in pain, going senile, should I put her down? I cant afford more vet visits

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry to hear what you and Patches are going through. Seizures can be caused by many things- as she is diabetic, checking her glucose was an excellent first step. Seizures can sometimes be caused by other organ dysfunction, such as kidney or liver disease. In her case, the sudden onset of so many seizures in an older pet makes me strongly suspicious of something serious, like a brain tumor. I would recommend euthanasia in her case. Seizures can be painful and disorienting, especially when they are uncontrolled. I'll be keeping you and Patches in my thoughts.
