My kitten breathes fast in sleep & only drinks water with food. Why?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 3 months and 19 days old | 10 lbs

Ok so my cat has been doing good since I had him but recently I noticed while he sleeps he’s breathing fast and purring also he doesn’t want to drink his water unless it’s in his food please answer back I need answers

Hi there. It's normal for kittens to have periods of fast breathing, especially during REM sleep when they're dreaming - just like humans. So if he's acting normal otherwise, this is likely not anything to be concerned about. It's also quite normal for healthy cats to not drink much water, especially if they're getting any wet food, as the moisture content in the food often meets their needs for water without any need for frequent drinking.
