Cat has fleas, recently treated. Should I re-treat before my trip?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 8 months old | 6.3 lbs

I am leaving today and going out of town for a week for a family situation and I'll be leaving my cat with my brother. She has fleas, I gave her a topical treatment on June 1st or 2nd and it hasn't been a month yet so do I give it to her before I leave or wait until I get back?

You can safely give her another treatment now so that she isn't late on her next dose. The safe range is one topical treatment every 2-4 weeks as needed, Thanks for visiting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach and good luck with keeping Jackie flea free while you are out of town! Take care. : )
