Is it normal for my puppies to suddenly bark when I come home?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Doberman Pinscher | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 17 days old | 55 lbs

Yesterday, I’ve out almost the entire day and when I came back to check on my dogs, they where barking at me (for the first time since the very first day I got them which was 2 months ago) Should I be alert or consider something due their sudden barking?

Your puppies are still young and are maturing before your very eyes. They are now behaving like dogs. There is no need for concern here. : ) They are likely just happy to see you and now want to express their happiness. As long as they are still eating and drinking normal and not having any diarrhea or vomiting, they are fine medically. Their barking is normal dog behavior for maturing young puppies. Thanks for visiting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach and have a wonderful rest of your day! Take care.
