I adopted a cat ( vet believes is part Maine coon ) she is about 25" w/o tail and a bit over 3 ft. including tail. When I took her to vet she said she was 6 to 8'years old. She gave her meds for worms. Finally my question ; she used about 30 pounds
Annie is a bigger cat than most, and if you keep a very clean box, including changing the litter at least once a week and scooping it twice a day, that could be why you are using so much litter. It could also be that your friend doesn't keep the litter box as clean as you. Cats typically urinate two to four times a day, but if Annie is urinating in large amounts, it could be a sign of a health problem such as kidney disease, diabetes, or hyperthyroidism. You can always have her seen by a vet to have a physical exam, geriatric blood panel, and urinalysis done on her, and I would recommend it. That tell the vet if she has any medical illness, such as the three I mentioned above, which could potentially explain the large amount of litter you use. If there is medical illness, the vet can discuss treatment options with you. Should one not be found, then likely you either keep a very clean box, or your friend doesn't keep hers as clean as you do :-)
