Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | spayed | 12 years and 2 months old | 11 lbs
I have a Shitzu who is 12 years. She is in good shape but has had the normal red eyes etc that I give her drops for. She developed an ear infection last month which has cleared up. This week she has been sneezing and wheezing when walking her and also has gaged and vomited a little. I give her 1/2 tab clariton for allergies. Anything else I can do or give her? She just was at Vet for ear and was cleared. She is 11 lbs.

Thank you for your question regarding Chloe. I am happy to hear that her ear has cleared up and it’s not causing her any more problems. In regards to her wheezing, sneezing, gagging and vomiting, dogs her age can acquire these symptoms through a variety of diseases such as environmental or seasonal allergies, upper respiratory disease, sinus problems, dental problems, etc. I understand that you were just at the veterinarian and you may be hesitant about taking her back. But I strongly encourage you to schedule another physical examination as soon as possible to make sure that she does not have one of the above mentioned diseases and to make sure that the Claritin is adequate enough treatment. I hope this helps.
