My dog coughs, but stops when relaxed or sleeping. Is it serious?

I just received a answer about Snoopy but I wanted to add that he stops coughing when relaxed or sleeping. Does that mean anything else than the previous question

Hello, I just read your previous question and I fully agree with the answer posted by my colleague. I am glad that the cough stops when he's sleeping, and glad to hear he's resting well. That information makes me less suspicious of something like heart failure, but still get him in to the vet in the next few days. Have a good day!
