My dog's anal gland is still leaking pus after surgery. Is it normal?

My dog roust had a minor surgery because his anal gland had got infected and the vet said she cleaned and drained the infection but it still is quite pussy , this is the same day of the surgery . The vet gave us medicine for him but should I be worried the gland still is leaking puss. Pet's info: Dog | English Cocker Spaniel | Male | neutered | 2 years and 9 months old | 33 lbs

Your vet will have cleaned out the infection from the anal sac, but it will take medication for the infection to completely clear up. I'm assuming that your vet gave Chase antibiotics, and those should help with the infection and clear up the pus. I hope this helps!
