This most likely is Papillomavirus and is a virus that basically needs to run its course. It may get worse before getting better. If it interferes with Tyson's eating then I would discuss this with your veterinarian since we can crush some of the papillomas if needed but it is recommended to leave them be. It is also a contagious virus so I would recommend not bringing him around other dogs. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

I am sorry to hear about Tyson! These look like they could be viral papillomas. You can read more about them at https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951355 . In most cases they go away on their own eventually. Some vets will actually crush some of the growths with hemostats and it is thought this sometimes stimulates the immune system to attach the masses though this is theoretical and it isn't really known if they would have gone away on their own anyway. In rare cases when they are interfering with a dog's ability to eat we may need to do surgery or freeze them off.
