My dog has a growing, scabbed dewclaw bump. Should I see a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 1 year and 1 month old | 35 lbs

I recently found this bump next to zoomi’s Dewclaw. It’s a little scabbed now I think because she has been chewing on it a little. The bump seems to be growing a bit as well. Does anyone know what this could be and if I should take her in to see my vet?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could be a benign or malignant growth. There is no way of knowing what it is just based on its appearance. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign.     He probably had his dewclaws removed by the breeder when he was only a few days old and that one was not done correctly. I suggest you have your vet examine it. If it is painful for him, surgical removal would be recommended.

My dog has a lump by his dew claw, is it serious or something to worry about? Does anyone know what is is?
Hello. In all honesty, all lumps & bumps should be investigated. I can not say with any certainty whether this is a benign or malignant tumor, a cyst or an infection. It really needs a hands on examination, possibly with a small biopsy called a fine needle aspirate, to determine its make-up. If this does need to be removed, the best time to do so is while it is relatively small. I do recommend having this looked at soon. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Noticed yesterday some Kind of growth on dogs heel. It’s bleeding now . It’s prob size of ring finger nail.. not sure if it’s serous enough to bring her into vet..

I recommend you have Billy evaluated by your veterinarian for a test called fine needle aspirate which is an easy, quick and pain-free procedure which in the majority of cases will help reach a diagnosis to identify what the best course of action is based on the findings. In some cases, a biopsy is needed for a diagnosis. Treatment will be recommended based on the findings. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed that it is something benign.

We are trying to find out what this bump is. He has seen a vet and he said it would go away. It has not done that. It looks bigger
