My senior dog struggles to sit and stand. Is it time for a vet visit?

Pet's info: Dog | Great Pyrenees | Male | neutered | 10 years old | 90 lbs

Hi, My name is alyssa and my great pyrennes is getting older. ive noticed that his hips have gotten harder for him to sit down and stand up. I ask him to “sit” and he wont touch the floor. I have tried multiple vitamins and supplements to try to help but nothing has worked. Is this something i need to talk to my vet about?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would absolutely talk to your vet about this. There are lots of medication options that are stronger than supplements and could possibly help Sampson be a lot more comfortable. You can even discuss non-medication options like physical therapy and laser treatment. Your vet can go over the best options for you and Sampson. Kisses to him!
