My dog was bitten by another dog, wound open. Should I see a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 6 years and 3 months old | 25 lbs

My dog was bitten by our other dog this evening. She isn’t bleeding anymore but the wound is open. What should I do?

Poor Gracie! Depending on the size and depth of the wound, it may need to be stitched shut. She will also need antibiotics to prevent infection. In this case, I think it's best that she is seen by a vet right away. The vet can stitch the wound if needed, can check her for any internal damage from the bite, and can prescribe antibiotics as needed. I recommend taking her into a vet now. Best of luck.

    It's hard to get a sense of scale from the photo, but from what I can see the wound is quite small and clean. It doesn't look like it needs to be stapled or stitched. Any bite has a tendency to get infected so I would go to the vet when you can to get antibiotics, in the meantime keep cleaning with warm salt water.
