My dog won't eat after vet visit for inflamed stomach. Is this normal?

My dog has refused to eat and has barely drank in two days . Took him to the vet and they said his intestines and stomach were inflamed. They have him a shot of cerebral and sent us home with cerebral pills. He still won’t eat. Is this normal? Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Male | neutered | 3 years and 6 months old | 36 lbs

Poor Crosby! I'm sorry to hear that he's having this problem. I'm assuming you mean that he got a shot of Cerenia, and Cerenia tablets to go home? If he still isn't eating, no - this is not normal, and would make me very suspicious that something is seriously wrong. I would recommend taking him back to the vet for a recheck, as it sounds like he needs some additional diagnostic testing to help find the problem. Depending on what has been done already, this might include blood work and abdominal x-rays/ultrasound.
