Why are my foster kittens still sick with diarrhea and vomiting?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 10 days old

I'm a foster home for orphan kittens. We have 9 of them. 5 kittens are 6 weeks old and 4 kittens are 5 weeks old. The 6 weeks old kittens started having diahrea and they started vomiting a few days ago, and we thought it was the work of worms, so we started treatment with panacur and becox (what the shelter told us to give them). It's been three days and there are no improvement. They don't eat as much as they should but they don't act sick, even though they're starving... they are getting weak

Poor kittens! If they've been sick for three days with no improvement, and you've already dewormed them with Panacur, I would definitely recommend a vet visit at this point. They may have something more serious such as feline leukemia or panleukopenia, which your veterinarian can test for. At the very least, it sounds like they will need fluids and medication to control the vomiting and diarrhea since it isn't resolving on its own.
