My dog has a face sore and cough. Should I take him to the vet?

My eleven years old black Labrador has developed this sore on his face just below his left ear. He’s also got a cough. He’s eating and drinking well and I’ve been cleaning the sore twice daily. Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 8 years and 8 months old | 50 lbs

Poor Sam! This wound looks really infected. He could have developed this from an ear infection or just from scratching that area consistently. The cough could be just an upper respiratory infection, heart problems, or something else. I would strongly recommend to have your vet take a look at him. Your vet will be able to clean up the wound and get him started on the proper meds to help him feel better. I hope this helps!
