Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 8 lbs
My parents lab slipped and fell on my 8 pound morkie, my dog attacked the lab which resulted in a fight that lasted no more than 10 seconds. When I picked my dog up he was breathing heavily and whimpering. I have medical training (for humans) so I immediately felt both sides of his ribs and felt down each one of his legs. He didn’t cry but I could tell both front and back legs on the right side are tender. I stood him up and had him walk to me and he is limping. what should I do to monitor him?

Chewy is limping because he's in pain. I recommend resting him for the next 48 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Take him out to toilet on a lead only, and bring him right back in when he's done. If he still appears painful after this time, then I would take him into the vet for an exam. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. He may also benefit from some pain medications, which the vet can prescribe. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. Best of luck, I hope this helps!
