My dog has fleas for the first time. Is it an allergy or mange?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | spayed | 6 years and 4 months old | 100 lbs

I am trying to find out if my dog who is having fleas for the 1st time is just having an allergy or if she some how developed mange. She does not leave our house and we do not have other animals over. So i dont know how she could have it

Hello. The normal body distribution for Sarcoptic mange is along the ear edges and on the legs. In the photo, Chi is showing the signs of classic flea allergy dermatitis. Her skin appears to have a secondary infection. It would be best to get your vet involved in her treatment as this will require more than just flea prevention to resolve this.
