Are cat litter box odor preventers safe and effective for my cat?

Hi is it ok to use special odour preventers to help prevent odours in cat litter boxes?I found this in Walmart is it a good brand?not quite sure. Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered

Hartz, in my opinion , is not a great brand but it would not hurt trying these out. The best odor prevention, however, is using clumping litter and removing the soiled clumps and the bowel movements every day. Your cat might not like the smell of any litter deodorizer and then might avoid using the litter box. Start with a tiny amount to get the cat used to it.
