Hi my babys name is Coco and she doesnt eat like usual. She eats once every 2 days and thats because shes starving and eats verg little also very little water. Shes thirsty but wont drink. When she teies eating she eats 3 or 4 bites and gives a loud cry like something hurt her and stops eating. She hasnt pooped in 3 days now. I know i should take her to a vet im working on a loan to do so at the moment we are homeless so its gonna happen by tomortow. Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 5 years old | 8 lbs

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. It sounds as though Coco may have something going on in her mouth. With her breed, it is likely that she has dental disease and a tooth infection that may be causing this discomfort. Placing her on an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory such as Clindamycin and Meloxicam may certainly help reduce her discomfort and treat a dental infection. I hope this helps! In the meantime, you can feed her canned food and soften her hard food with warm water or chicken broth.
