Hi our female guinea pig has bleeding from her vagina. We just noticed bleeding on her bedding and upon inspection she has a blood covered vagina. She has just had a litter of two babies just over a month ago so unsure if this is normal. The babies have been rehomed but she has the male still in the cage with her

this is definitely not normal, it is likely to be a uterine infection which can be life threatening if left untreated. treatment with antibiotic would probably be the first option but it is often not successful, in such a case a surgery to have the uterus removed would be needed.
