Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 2 months old | 18 lbs
Our dog had a seizure for about 5 minutes today and we took him to the vet ER and they did blood tests and said his liver enzymes were spiked and that was likely causing the seizures. They gave him antibiotics and said if he had another seizure that he may have epilepsy. He had another seizure tonight, but was smaller. How long would it take the antibiotics to work, if that was the cause of his seizure?

I'm sorry Syrus had a seizure! It will take at least 24 hours for antibiotics to start to have an effect and for there to be signs of improvement. Antibiotics are typically given for at least 7-`10 days to have a full resolution of the initial problem. You did the right thing by taking him into the ER vet when he had that long seizure. If he has another seizure of five minutes or longer, be sure to take him back into the ER vet right away. Best of luck.
