Ouch, your poor pup! You need to take him into the vet as soon as possible. It needs to be cleaned sterilely, he may need x-rays to see if there are any possible broken bones, he needs antibiotics to prevent an infection, some of the cuts may need sutures, and he will need pain medication. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. The vet will determine the appropriate treatment needed. Please take him into one now.

Ouch - poor pup! This wound looks quite deep, so yes - I would definitely recommend a vet visit. This may need stitches, depending on how long ago it happened, and your pup will certainly need antibiotics to prevent it from becoming infected while it heals.

I have a dog who got into a fight with another dog of mine and messed up her leg
The best thing to do is clean the wounds with soap and water and keep him calm and confined to rest. If he is not using the leg or there are wound greater than an inch or continued bleeding, then you will need to find a ER clinic to treat the wounds for infection and to have stitches and an x ray to make sure nothing is broken.

Poor little puppy! Unfortunately there are no human pain medications you can give him. Many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. I would look up to find the closest vet to you and take him into them now.

This is a medical emergency, and this puppy needs to see a vet now. This will be extremely painful for him, and he needs pain medications right away. Do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. He also needs x-rays to determine how bad the fracture is, and if surgery is an option to repair it. If the fracture is really bad, amputation may be needed, but only a vet can decide that. Please take him into a vet immediately.

Aside from that, she should be evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible to check if there are any fractures and to see what would be the best therapeutic step for her. Appropriate wound care, pain relief medication and systemic antibiotic must be provided for this type of wound. The wound must be flushed and disinfected and possibly stitched up if required. I would strongly recommend an immediate check up at your local veterinarian.

What should I do if my dog has a broken leg
You need to take your dog to a veterinarian who can reset the leg and then at least immobilize it so a) the swelling can go down, b) the pain is reduced c) discuss possible alternatives in repairing the leg, be it conservative treatment or surgery d) prescribe pain medicine until you have decided how to proceed.

My puppy leg got hurt by a door and it seems like his bone got cut and as there is a lockdown in the whole island no vet is available what should i do? He seems to be in a lot a pain
I am so very soory your pet has such a severe injury and no available vet anywhere for the moment. There isn't a whole lot you can do to help with the pain besides soaking this area in a Betadine diluted 50:50 with warm water bath to help relieve some of the inflammation and also cut down on any bacteria that may develop at the site of the injury. You should also clean this daily with sterile saline. Applying a cold compress (for 5 mins max twice daily) on the area first can also help with pain anf inflammation. We can't recommend any over the counter pain medicine b/c they can be quite toxic in pets and therefore we can't risk it. I would try to do this and wrap the leg as best you can with materials (Tefla pad, continuous gauze, cast padding) from your local pharmacy. You can certainly also look up "how to bandage your pets leg" on youtube to learn how to do this safely and without cutting off any circulation in the process. It sounds like the leg is very painful, and I would not try to examine it yourself as she may get upset. Instead, I recommend taking her into the vet to have it examined, and have some pain medication prescribed. It's best to have a vet examine it to make sure the underlying structures weren't damaged by getting twisted up in the shower curtain. Please do not give her any human pain medications, many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. Because she had this accident last week and is still not using the leg, I would take her into the vet today.
