My dog's nipples are swollen. Is she pregnant? When will she deliver?

I think my dog is pregnant due to swelling nipples that are starting to fill up she was around of mail for 8 Days starting April 8th 2018 should she have delivered by now

A dog's pregnancy lasts 58-68 days. If Cleo was pregnant, then she would be very close to the end of her pregnancy assuming on the 8th day of mating she become pregnant. It could also be that she is suffering from a false pregnancy. The only way to know for sure is to have her seen by a vet. I'd make an appointment with her vet to check her out to see if she's pregnant or not. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Poor silver! She could be pregnant (unless y'all have watched her 100% of the time she is outside) or she could be going through a false pregnancy (they think they are pregnant and will show similar signs of swollen mammary glands, nesting, whining, etc). She could also have an infection in her mammary tissues. I would recommend to contact your vet for an exam to confirm that she isn't pregnant and see what is going on. I hope she starts to feel better!

If she is not pregnant it can be a false pregnancy. Their body will go through all the changes as if they were pregnant without the birth. If this is the case then it will resolve with time after her hormones settle down.

I am wondering if Lokita might be experiencing a pseudopregnancy. Sometimes dogs will have all of the hormonal changes associated with pregnancy and can even produce milk without being pregnant. It’s important to make sure she isn’t truly pregnant even though you keep a close eye on her. I’d recommend having your vet examine her - they may want to perform an ultrasound to make sure she isn’t pregnant and if they are suspicious of pseudopregnancy they can discuss treatment.

Two months following her Heat cycle is the exact time you would see these symptoms as that coincides with the timing she would be close to giving birth if she were pregnant. Normal pregnancy lasts 9 weeks or 63 days. If you are sure she is not pregnant, than she is likely having a false pregnancy and the symptoms can last for a few weeks.

Female dogs bleed in pre-estrus, which is the two or three weeks before the actual estrus or heat during which they can conceive. This will then actually last about two to three weeks and her vulva and nipples will remain swollen due to the increase in hormones. So, actually she is now in heat and can conceive, so you need to guard her, if you do not want puppies.

Hello. How is Blacky acting? Is she relaxed & eating & drinking well? Has there been any vaginal discharge, other than the occasional drip of mucous? Average pregnancies are 63 days, but not all dogs will adhere to the same schedule. If you are concerned, it would be best to have Blacky examined to see if she is indeed pregnant ( could this have been a false pregnancy? ), or do an ultrasound examination to make sure the fetuses are all normal & not in distress. If she seems to be feeling well, & there is no unusual discharges or behaviors, I might give her another day or so to see if she goes into labor on her own. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

My female shih tzu got breed last october 8 2018. But until now she doesn't give birth yet. Her nipple is enlarge..
If she met a male on the 8th of October and has not given birth by now she is not pregnant. Average gestation time is 63 to 65 days with a maximum of 6 days, so she should have had puppies by the middle of December. Enlarged nipples could mean that she is coming into heat again now.

She may be having a false pregnancy. If she had contact with a male while she was in heat, she could be pregnant. She could also have a hormonal problem or a mammary tumor. It would be best to take her to a veterinarian for an exam. The vet can also tell you whether she is pregnant. Unfortunately this is impossible without a hands-on exam.

HI, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Normal pregnancy length in dogs is 60-63 days. If she mated right before adoption then she could be pregnant. Puppy heart beats can be detected on ultrasound at 28 days gestation and we can see their skeletons on X-rays around 50 days. She could be pregnant or she could be suffering from a false pregnancy which occurs after they have a heat cycle from a hormonal imbalance. This imbalance causes the body to think it is pregnant when it actually isn't. The dog can develop mammary glands, produce milk, nest, carry stuffed animals around like babies, act anxious. It resolves with in 2-3 months. I would make an appointment with your Vet to see if you can confirm or deny pregnancy. I wish you the best!
