My dog's paw pads have brown dots, look like strawberries, infected?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Female | spayed | 5 years and 11 months old | 32 lbs

Hi! Last night I noticed small brown dots and lines on my dog's paws. The best way I can describe it is that it looks like the sides of the pads of her paws look like strawberries. On her front left paw, the area is also white, it almost looks like it's infected. To me, it looks like maybe a bug layed eggs on her or I'm not sure.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I agree that this is possibly some kind of infection or perhaps a growth but this would require a veterinary evaluation to really know what's going on and what would be best to treat it with. Good luck and have a great day!
