Poor Buddy! He could have overdone it on his hike causing the shaking legs. He may be painful. I would rest him for the next 48 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Take him out to toilet on a lead only, and bring him right back in when he's done. If he still appears painful after this time, then I would take him into the vet for an exam. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. He may also benefit from some pain medications, which the vet can prescribe. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Hello. I am sorry to hear that Marley isn't feeling well. It is possible that he is just sore if the hike was a big hike and he isn't used to that much activity. He could be starting to develop arthritis as he is getting a bit older now. There are other possible causes as well including spine disease, so if the problem gets worse, or if he seems wobbly in the back legs (walking like he is drunk) or crying out when you touch his back, then have him seen right away. Otherwise, talk to your vet about joint supplements.
