Can kittens eat Whiskas tuna in jelly? Is it too high in calories?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Himalayan | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 13 days old | 2.4 lbs

Hello, Im from Saudi Arabia we have good veterinary clinics around here but the vibe im getting from them os that they are trying to sell a product, so I wanted to ask about type of kitten food. I personally use a widely known brand over here, whiskas, i use the tuna in jelly once or twice with a mix of royal canine kitten dry food in between so i was wondering if the tuna in “jelly” is good for a kittens health from what jve heard is that its high jn calorie and bad overall

It's not bad for a kitten, but may be too high in calories if overfed. It's true that too many calories can lead to a fat cat and in-turn bad health. The Wiskas is easier to overfeed than the Royal Canin, because the Royal Canin is more specifically designed to meet the nutritional demands of the kitten. There is a great deal of information about cat food out there and I understand that it must be confusing. I reccomend reading the article at the link below for more information about cat food. https://www.petcoach.co/article/from-kittenhood-to-the-golden-years-what-your-cat-should-eat-to-t I hope that helps and all is well with Peaky.
