Hey there! Im about to be the owner of my very first kitten once he turns 8 weeks. My main concern is vaccinations and Vet visits. I've tried to research when you take a kitten in to be vaccinated and how much it would cost, but every where I look has a different answer. Could you give my a schedule on when I should bring my kitten into the Vets office for regular checkups/ Vaccinations? And, if possible, your best estimate on how much it would cost? Im trying to be as prepared as I can!

Good on you for being such a responsible pet owner and getting vaccines for your kitten! Feline core vaccines include FVRCP (feline distemper combo) and a Rabies vaccine. If she is an outdoor cat, the FeLV vaccine (feline leukemia) should be considered. I will put the schedule below: She will need three series of FVRCP each given four weeks apart to be fully vaccinated. First vaccine: 8 weeks of age Second vaccine: 12 weeks of age Third vaccine: 16 weeks of age The rabies vaccines requires two vaccines given four weeks apart for her to be fully vaccinated. First vaccine: 12-14 weeks of age Second vaccine: 16-18 weeks of age I will put a link below to Vetco's clinics and their vaccine costs so you can get an idea of how much to save. Best of luck, I hope this helps! https://www.vetcoclinics.com

I understand there must be some confusion if you ask different sources. You should take your kitten to the vet for vaccines at this time and your vet can give you a schedule for the boosters. The booster vaccines are generally three weeks apart until 13 weeks of age. At one year, your cat will be due again for a booster and rabies vaccine. Below is a link to a thorough, but simple guide. https://www.petcoach.co/article/vaccines-vaccination-schedule-for-cats-kittens/ Prices will vary depending on the clinic you go to, but they will all be somewhat similar. Below is a link to the Vetco price guide, which should help give you an idea of the cost involved. https://www.vetcoclinics.com/services-and-clinics/vaccination-packages-and-prices/ For more information about raising a kitten and other veterinary considerations, I recommend you read the article at the link below. https://www.petcoach.co/article/new-kitten-101/ I hope that helps and all is well with your kitten.
