Is it safe to put my dog's vitamin E oil directly on their food?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 5 years and 7 months old | 70 lbs

Can I give my dog vitamin e oil directly on his food instead of giving it to him.in capsule form? My vet told me to introduce this to his diet but I never asked what version

Yes, you can break the capsule and mix the contents in with his food. Vitamin E is an essential vitamin found in sufficient quantity in a well balanced diet. Discuss a dose for supplementation with your veterinarian as vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin. This means it is stored in the fat and too much can lead to overdose or toxicity.

    If your dog is on the high quality diet she should not need to have any vitamin E supplementation. Vitamin E is one of the four vitamins (A, D, E and K) that are fat-soluble for both humans and animals. That means that they are stored in the fat of the liver, so an overdose is possible. Unless your vet recommends you give it to her then I would not recommend it.
