My cat's eye is bulging and bleeding. Can saline help keep it wet?

Cat's eye bulging out if socket is bleeding. No vets open until 4 am uk time. Cat in Cyprus. Should we use saline solution dripped into eye 2 keep wet . ???

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. So sorry to hear about your kitty! Yes, Absolutely use a sterile saline solution. Several drops on the eye every hour until you can get into the vet. If you have an e-collar put it on her too so prevent her being able to rubbing it. They may have to take the eye out anyway, but if there is any chance of saving it, the saline will help. Best of luck to you and your cat!

    Oh no - poor kitty! If there are no veterinarians it won't hurt to use a saline solution (make sure there are no other ingredients) to keep the eye moist. If she struggles or seems painful when you are trying to administer the drops it probably isn't worth the struggle. I will say that based on the picture it looks like there is significant damage to the eye and it may not be viable. Keep her somewhere warm and quiet until you can see a vet. I would not recommend trying to give any over the counter pain medications. Good luck!
