Hello! My puppy recently started having jelly poops, when she’s on grain food, I’m not sure what’s going on and I’m worried. She’s my first young puppy. Could it be she’s allergic to grain food?

Hi there and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Very cute pictures by the way- there is nothing cuter than a puppy. While it is possible she could have an allergy to the grain food, there can be other causes as well for the jelly stool (actually is likely to be mucous from an inflamed gastrointestinal tract) such as parasitic infection, viral, or bacterial infection. I would recommend Mia see her veterinarian for an exam and fecal testing. You may wish to bring a fresh stool sample with you to the appointment in case her veterinarian would like to test her stool. I hope this helps and thanks again for posting!
