My puppy's acne is getting worse and bleeding. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Female | spayed | 1810 years and 7 months old | 21 lbs

My puppy Ellie has been diagnosed with “puppy acne” but her face seems to be getting worse. Her pimples bleed often and look very sore. I am concerned it is something worse. I brought her to the vet again on Friday June 15th but I’m still very worried. (The last photo attached is how her pimples started, the other two are from today).

Hi and thanks for using PetCoach. I'm sorry Ellie may isn't doing well, she is a cutie pie. Be sure that you are washing her food bowl after each feeding and ceramic or stainless steel bowl are preferred for food and water, as plastic can hold bacteria. If she is not getting better, another thing to ask her vet about may be puppy strangles https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4952835
