What causes a red, itchy rash on my kitten's head and ears?

Hi there my little male kitten mousey has broken out in something that looks like a,rash at 1st i thought he cut himself on the unit. It didn't seem to be bother is usual happy playful self he was eating n drinking like normal. The next day a few more have appeared around his head n by his ear. He is am indoor kitten has had his vaccinations fe worming flea and parasite stuff to. I've just been to see my vet but unfortunately he had be called in to surgery.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Mouse! Thanks for the pictures! The most common reason for an itchy red rash in that location is allergies from the environment or from food. It isn't an emergency so he can be seen when ever you can get him in and your Vet is free. Steroids and antibiotics tend to clear it up as long as the underlying cause is found. Sometimes changing the food protein really can help if it is a food allergy. I wish you and Mouse the best!
